Penistone Hill, Haworth

The geology and industrial heritage trail, about 4 km long, takes walkers from the centre of Haworth over Penistone Hill to see old sandstone quarries, coal mines and plant fossils. Along the trail are four rock sculptures showing how coal and sandstone were extracted and worked. A 24 page illustrated booklet describes the route and gives details about Haworth's local industries and geology.
