Riches of the Earth

Coal, iron, sandstone and fireclay have been extracted from the South Pennine moors for centuries. Detailed industrial archaeology surveys have been carried out by volunteers on Todmorden Moor, Baildon Moor and Oxenhope Moor. Brief accounts of the geology of the area and the archaeological discoveries at each site have now been published in a book called Riches of the Earth. It is available on eBay at £2 plus postage.
